Research for high school students
Some students who enjoy Earth science want to go further and do real research: collect data, test an idea, and present the result on a poster. Dr. Marsellos mentors high school students in Earth science research.
Hofstra's summer research program
Hofstra University runs the Hofstra University Summer Science Research Program (HUSSRP), in which high school students carry out a research project with a Hofstra faculty member. Who may apply, the dates and the application are on Hofstra's program page.
Teachers: tell Dr. Marsellos about a student
If you teach a student who is curious about Earth science and would like to try research, write to Dr. Marsellos at antonios.e.marsellos@hofstra.edu. Give the student's grade, your school, and what interests the student; there is no need to send the student's name in the first message. He will reply to you, and you can pass the information on to the student and their family.
Students: please ask a teacher or a parent to write. This site does not collect any information from students.
